Is 395 nm UV light safe to use at home?+
Yes. 395 nm is long-wave UV-A, the same wavelength used in standard consumer blacklights. Unlike short-wave UV-B/UV-C, it does not damage skin or eyes under normal use. Avoid staring directly into the LEDs and keep a few feet of distance, as you would with any bright stage light.
How large an area does one bar cover?+
With its 100° × 70° projection, one B18xUV washes roughly a 4 m × 2 m (13 ft × 7 ft) area from 2 m (~6.5 ft) away — enough for a small dance floor, photo backdrop, or booth. Combine multiple units for bigger spaces.
Can I use it outdoors?+
The B18xUV is designed for indoor use. For outdoor events, keep it sheltered from rain and away from direct moisture.
Does it need a controller?+
No. Simply plug it into an AC 90–240 V outlet and it turns on instantly. The bar runs standalone in Static or Auto mode straight from its LCD menu, and DMX-512 and RDM are built in, so you can also drive it from any lighting console in 1, 3 or 8-channel mode at DMX address 1–508.
What will glow under the light?+
Neon/UV paint, white fabrics, teeth, highlighter markings, fluorescent posters, tonic water and most “blacklight reactive” décor will glow vividly. Darker colours and most everyday materials will stay dim.
