A stage laser or moving-head fixture rarely has room for a desktop Ethernet switch — and a plastic-cased consumer switch has no place inside a touring projector. SUPERCAN network switch modules are bare PCB switch boards sized for the inside of a fixture: two network ports out to the panel, a direct header to the controller, and screw holes that line up with your own chassis.
The series covers FB4 network adapters, waterproof fixture network ports, gigabit panel-connector modules and multi-port internal switch boards. They are used in custom laser housings, outdoor laser products, touring fixtures and embedded control panels — either as a stocked module or as the starting point for an OEM board.
Why a fixture-level switch board
- It fits. Compact PCBs with mounting holes for internal fixture installation, not a desktop enclosure you have to hide.
- Daisy-chain without a rack switch. Two external ports plus a direct controller link means one network drop feeds the fixture and carries on to the next one.
- Connector choice. Board-mount shielded RJ45, rugged locking panel-mount RJ45, or pigtail headers wired to IP-rated waterproof panel connectors.
- Built for laser control wiring. Boards carry a dedicated FB4 header, so the controller connects with a short internal harness instead of a patch cord loop inside the housing.
- OEM / ODM. Port count, connector type, board outline, mounting-hole pattern and cable length can be changed for your fixture.

NSWPL is the current internal network switch board for laser projectors and professional show-control devices. Two board-mount shielded RJ45 ports face the fixture panel and a dedicated FB4 header feeds the controller, so a single incoming network cable gives you pass-through to the next fixture and a clean internal feed — no patch cord coiled inside the housing.

NSW WP Fixture Network Switch Board

NSW WP is the board used when the fixture’s network connectors have to be sealed. The two RJ45 ports stay inside the housing and short patch cords run out to IP-rated panel-mount connectors with screw caps, so the waterproof seal is made by the chassis connector rather than by the board.

Gigabit Panel-Mount RJ45 Switch Module

For touring equipment and control panels where a bare RJ45 socket will not survive, this module carries two rugged locking chassis connectors with push-release latches directly on the PCB. The connectors take the strain instead of the board, and the module drops behind a panel cut-out as a single assembly.

FB4 Network Adapter

The FB4 Network Adapter brings the controller’s network side out to the fixture panel on two rugged locking connectors, using a ready-made ribbon harness instead of a hand-built RJ45 loom. It is the quickest way to give an existing FB4-based projector a professional, serviceable network panel.

Outdoor FB4 Waterproof Network Port Board
100MPigtail headers, no RJ45 socketCompact
The most compact option in the series. Instead of RJ45 sockets it uses small pin headers wired straight to the waterproof panel connectors, which saves the height an RJ45 jack would need in a slim outdoor housing. Suitable where 100M is enough for the fixture design, and useful as a service replacement board.

Frequently asked questions
What is the FB4 header on these boards for?
It is a direct internal link between the switch board and an FB4-type laser controller mounted in the same fixture. Using the header instead of a patch cord removes one RJ45 pair from inside the housing, shortens the cable run and makes the controller easier to swap during service.
Do I need gigabit, or is 100M enough?
NSWPL, NSW WP and the outdoor port board are 100M, which is normally more than enough for laser-control and show-control traffic — control data is small and latency matters more than raw bandwidth. Choose the gigabit panel-mount module when the same network run also carries media, video or file transfer, or when a house standard requires gigabit throughout.
Are the boards themselves waterproof?
No — a bare PCB is never the sealing element. On outdoor fixtures the seal is made by the IP-rated panel-mount connector and the fixture enclosure; the board sits behind them. That is why the NSW WP and outdoor port boards are built to be wired out to panel connectors rather than to expose their own sockets.
Can the port count, connector type or harness length be changed?
Yes. These are SUPERCAN’s own boards, so port count, connector style, board outline, mounting-hole pattern and cable length can be adapted for your fixture. Send the controller model, the panel cut-out and the quantity and we will quote the standard board or the modification.
Do these modules work with non-laser equipment?
They do. Anything that needs a small Ethernet switch inside its enclosure — media servers, control panels, LED processors, embedded controllers — can use the same boards; the FB4 header is simply left unpopulated in the harness.
